"Di-Vines" Submitted by Kurt Fowler 1/28/2003 "...an allover quarter-drop pattern, best IMHO with a solid dark
pattern colour on a variegated background or 2 solid colours." |

"Crystal Diamonds" (main motif) Submitted by Kurt Fowler 1/28/2003 "These two are a sort of set. The little diamonds are the centers from
the big motif's diamonds, and the repeats work out so that the knitter can
easily use both in the same garment. Both are also suitable for 24-st
punchcard knitting machines." |

"Faux Woven" Submitted by Kurt Fowler 1/30/2003 This is a simple pattern with lots of possibilities that mimics a twill
woven fabric. The vertical bands fall into an almost-Fibonacci ratio, and
what a knitter does with colour changes through the horizontal rows can
create a wide range of effects. This motif repeats over 4 rows and 28 sts
as shown, but it could be rotated 90 degrees to shift the emphasis totally
to horizontal bands. Or flipping a copy of the motif horizontally and
placing the mirror images side-by-side would add another dimension for
those who are soothed by symmetry. |
